Shine On will have you singing along to all the 90s indie classics from artists like Oasis, Supergrass, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Reef, Kula Shaker, Pulp, Blur and many more. They also play a selection of our favourites from other decades.

More Shine On met whilst studying at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM). This has instilled in all the members a professional and committed attitude towards live music. The band have varied musical experience and influences.
Drummer Tom has been playing for 20 years starting with rock and punk bands around Glasgow. He moved 600 miles to study professional musicianship in Brighton where he has played with live club djs. Bloc Party and Bonobo are amoung his favourite bands. Tom is also a qualified driving instructor.
Brothers Jon and Mike both moved to Brighton in 2008 after growing up between Scotland and Canada. Mike started learning guitar at the age of 14 and is currently studying for his degree course. His varied musical taste includes Foo Fighters, Muse and Dire Straights. Both brothers are accomplished musicians and swap around instruments during sets as well as singing backing vocals.
Jon admires wide ranging bass players including Nathan East (Eric Clapton) and Mo-Town's James Jameson. This is demonstrated in his wide variety of acts including Pop/Indie act Sea King Roy and Reggae band Chukin. HIs commitment to music also saw him busking on a balcony for 8 hours.
Singer Ian has sung and played piano since the age of 6. He gave up a career in Pharmaceuticals to try music professionally and teaches piano locally. Since starting at BIMM Ian has performed piano on ITV's 'The X Factor' and performed at a vocal showcase for Warner Music. He also plays trumpet in two local bands as featured on the links page.
Lead guitarist Jack has just completed his degree at BIMM and is starting as a music teacher in September. He started playing guitar at 14 and is influenced by 80s bands such as The Smiths and Joy Division. He has played for theatre productions in London as well as writing for his own musical projects.
